Welcome to the forums!

First I'd check my devices to make sure they are working ok.

Click startcontrol panelhardware & sounddevice manager

See if any of your installed devices have a yellow alert tag. If they
do, that would be the device causing the trouble. Driver software for an
affected device my need to be reinstalled or updated.

You could also try a system restore to a point before this error
happened. Then check your device manager again. If the affected device
is no longer flagged, then you should be ok.

Let us know if this worked for you.

Try Event Viewer for any possible hardware errors that may be the root
cause.
