does anyone know the cause of file moving slow between disk drive to the
\\machine-name\public area? moving from other places won't have such issue, I am using the rc1, i don't have the rc2 to verify |

I was hoping someone with knowledge would respond! The performance was so bad
(64-bit) on large folders that I thought it had gone in to a loop. I gave up and copied/deleted data from "public" to a different network shared folder. It would be nice to see a "We know about it and it'll be fixed in xxxx" response. I've seen this issue also. I was trying to move some music from a folder to a
public folder and it took ages. Windows calculated the estimated time to complete as 2 hours and 36 minutes just to MOVE some files. This should not be the case as the data itself does not need to be moved just the FAT needs to be updated. I think it might be something to do with the message that window generates about a folder being shared and might be used by other users. Why does this message have to display for EVERY folder being moved/copied? A check box for 'use this response for all' would be nice. I was hoping someone with knowledge would respond! Moving a network (shared) 700MB file between Vista and XP pro machines: If I use Vista, it takes over an hour. If I us XP, it takes less than 15 minutes. Direction of move does not matter.
