Default blue screen ~ vista improperly shuts down

I have had my HP computer for under 2 weeks and this is the 6th time Windows
Vista blue screened and shut down. After the 1st 4 times it blue screened, I
did system restore (which took several attempts to sucessfully work). I had
two blissful days w/ no problems. Today I installed Microsoft Office Suite
2003 and vista has improperly shut down/blue screened, twice in 2 hours. In
the Problem Reports and Solutions the following info was given:

roblem signature
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.768.3
Locale ID: 1033

Files that help describe the problem (some files may no longer be available)
Mini030608-02.dmp
sysdata.xml
Version.txt

You've a brand new computer that has problems. The first thing to do
is contact the manufacturer for warranty support.

Default blue screen ~ vista improperly shuts down

I also wanted to mention, the problem didn't start occuring until I had the
computer 1 week. The 1st week I didn't have this problem.

The little I could read on the blue screen before the system shut down
mentioned something about BIOS.

It is an HP and I have emailed them twice w/ no response and they no longer
give tech support for my model (or in general, not sure) via phone as I found
out calling them yesterday evening.

Thanks again.

Hi Chelle,

As Bruce says, you have a brand new computer that has problems. However, you
shouldn't contact the manufacturer for support. Instead, return the machine
to the place of purchase. Your sales contract is with them and not the
manufacturer. It is upto them to have things put right or to let you have
another machine or your money back. Regular blue screens like the ones you
are having are indicative of severe hardware problems, especially in a brand
new machine.
