Disk defragmenter seems to only show options for *when* to defragment. How
can I access options of *which* disks I can choose to defragment, and see information as to how fragmented they are initially, so as to determine whether I want to defragment them in the first place? |

Check out this link for more information:
http://www.support4vista.com/tutoria...frag-vista.htm It gives you the command line options and explains the usage a little bit. Works like a charm. -- Dustin Harper http://www.vistarip.com | Vista Resource & Information Page "Chuck Braman" Chuck wrote in message ... Thanks for your help; that article answers the question. I find it
frustrating, though, that you have to type command lines to do anything with disk defragmenter. What is this, 1982?! Thanks, Microsoft--I think I'll just buy a third party utility. As a bare minimum, it would be nice, since it's so automated, to be able to at least set what disks it defragments automatically. The Vista Service Pack 1 will add the ability to select which drives you wish to defrag. They do listen. -- Ronnie Vernon Microsoft MVP Windows Desktop Experience "Chuck Braman" wrote in message ... I'm running SP1 (OEM Final 64 Bit), and I'm not seeing where to select the
option for the drive. Am I missing something? -- Dustin Harper http://www.vistarip.com | Vista Resource & Information Page "Ronnie Vernon MVP" wrote in message ... When you start disk defragmenter, you should now see a 'Select Volumes' button on the first screen -- Ronnie Vernon Microsoft MVP Windows Desktop Experience "Dustin Harper" wrote in message ...
