System Restore no longer functions (nor for that matter Windows Backup) on
Vista Ultimate 32 bit: Error received is: Incompatible version of the serializing package 0x80070724. I followed the process described in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940970/en-us three times and it made no difference (with intervening reboots). Some questions: 1. Does the process need to be done to just the C: drive or to all drives? [I only did the c: drive) - My system has c,d,e,f plus recovery G: drive 2. I noted when I ran vssadmin list shadowstorage /for=c: [after following the KB article above]: Used Shadow Copy Storage space: 23.828 MB Allocated Shadow Copy Storage space: 300 MB Maximum Shadow Copy Storage space: 22.043 GB So, any suggestions for how I recover System Restore & Windows Backup? -- E. Paul -- Yes, I did reset Max Shadow Copy Storage Size to original value (to
no avail). I do note in another post that the procedure needs to be done to every volume ...and I have c-d-e-f-g (internal) and i-j (external). I'll give that a try next (I only did c: . -- E.
