hi just got hold of windows vista rc1 and installed it last night, it was
working fine untill i tried to download a program from the internet. ie7
would look like it was going to download but then would come up with an error
saying webpage unavailable.

I had a look through the group this morning and i notice a few of you are
having the same problem but nobody seems to have come up with a solution.

I tried playing with the settings in security centre and with the internet
options but to no avail.

I did notice that in ie7 protected mode was on so i tried turning it off in
internet options and was then able to download files again. just to make sure
i turned it back on and once again it blocks downloads! needless to say ill
leave it off when i need to download files!

I dont know if this will help anybody else or if its a long term solution
but i thought i'd share so you can try it and see if it works for you too.
