might seem a daft question to most but, do i need to leave my laptop on, on a
scheduled defrag. running at 03.00am. or does the system fire up wether switched on or not? thanks m. |

The default Defrag setting is Wednesday at 3 am - Use the task scheduler to
change as you desire. Defrag will run at the next boot if not at the scheduled time - it is a"low-level" utility - meaning minimal effect on performance. Also Vista monitors usage over time - a "side" function of defrag is to arrange most often used applications at the disk beginning.
