I recently had to replace my hard drive in my Lenovo 3000 C200 laptop which
is running Windows Vista Home Basic. I did a full back up of my system using ThinkVantage rescue and Recovery and restored it on the new hard drive. Only problem is, for some reason my sidebar now refuses to work, I keep getting the 'Windows Sidebar has stopped working' message. I haven't installed any new programs since restoring the system. Does anyone have any ideas on what I could do to fix this problem? |

Hi Brink
Thanks for the advice, it's a good thread - unfortunately, it didn't work but, it's still crashing. I found a log in my events window: Log Name: Application Source: Application Error Date: 10/03/2008 2:51:31 PM Event ID: 1000 Task Category: (100) Level: Error Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: Bexta Description: Faulting application sidebar.exe, version 6.0.6000.16615, time stamp 0x4764fba1, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 6.0.6000.16386, time stamp 0x4549bdc9, exception code 0xc0000374, fault offset 0x000af1c9, process id 0x15c4, application start time 0x01c882620630936b. You can try a Repair install first instead if you have a Vista installation DVD and not a Recovery DVD. http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/88...all-vista.html Shawn -- Brink *There are no dumb questions, just the people that do not ask them.* '*Vista x64 Forums*' (http://www.vistax64.com/index.php?referrerid=2980) *Please post feedback to help others.* |
