We have a snap server at work. Whenever I try to create a new folder in one
the the existing folder on the network share Vista stops responding. When I eventually close the offending folder and reopen it, I have many, many folders with the name 'new folder(1), new folder(2)' etc..... sometime up to 80 or more depending on how long I wait before forcing the innactive window to close. Thanks for your help, anyone... Jeannette |

What build of Windows Vista are you using?

Oops, I guess I should have given some details. I am using RC1, build 5600. I
did whatever update were available. The server is a snap 112060 running some flavor of unix. I have reported similar issues since RC1 and now is see RTM does same.
In Explorer window I right click (new folder/text file/etc.) and it does not seem to do anything. Hit F5 to refresh and there is the new folder (for example) called 'New Folder'. I can then rename it. I have not seen this on local drives only UNC shares on both Win2003 and Win200 file servers. I am in admin group with Full permissions for all (and Full Share permisisons as well). This is ok at command prompt (md \\server\share$\newfoldername)... Anyone? -c "Jeannette" wrote: Oops, I guess I should have given some details. I am using RC1, build 5600. I did whatever update were available. Crap, I take that back. I just checked and yeah, it is the same on local
drives. -c "ck" wrote: I have not seen this on local drives only UNC shares on both Win2003 and Win200 file servers. |
