The circle (that used to be the hourglass) just keeps popping up near my
cursor, even when I'm not doing anything, and it's very annoying. Can anyone tell me what the problem might be? thanks!! |

It means that some background program is doing a lot of work. It could be an
update downloading, or routine system tuning, antivirus scanning, or just about anything. Next time it happens, open the Start menu, type in perfmon.exe, and press Enter. The Performance Monitor will show you which programs are using up your processor, memory, or hard disk bandwidth. I have exactly the same problem. Also my screen saver does not activate now.
The screen goes blank. Any help for us would be appreciated "kimmy707" wrote: The circle (that used to be the hourglass) just keeps popping up near my cursor, even when I'm not doing anything, and it's very annoying. Can anyone tell me what the problem might be? thanks!! |

Can anyone tell me what the problem might be? thanks!! The cursor question has been answered. Maybe I'll chip in on the screensaver part. Go to the screensaver window and see what is selected, and at the same time check the Preview to see if it is working. -- davidjchuang |
