Default Basic Ram Question

Hey, I have x86 homepremium, and like when i had 64, i still get tons of
errors from my ram (its bad ram, and i beleive its cuz its 4GB too)

Anyways, what should I do, I have 2 Slots, but I want 3GB and it has to
be DDR2..

Would it be effeicent to go 1(2GB PC-5200 DDR2SD 667) and 1(1GB PC-5200
DDR2SD 667?

OR should i simply just do the same but have it 1GB and 1 GB instead of
2 and 1

or does that not work well with dual channel

ssorry for my lack of knowledge

Default Basic Ram Question

You should be able to do 3GB as you are thinking. How do you know you have
bad ram?

You might try increasing the memory voltage just slightly (0.1v) but no more
and see if it takes the 4GB. Also try dropping the dram speed, although I
don't think that is the problem with the ram you are using. Make sure that
4GB is supported by your mobo (check the manufacturer's website and any
forum the mfg hosts).

Default Basic Ram Question

Dual Channel doesn't offer huge amounts of a performance increase, probably
2-3%. It is possible to run a 2 GB & a 1 GB stick with no problems
whatsoever.

Default Basic Ram Question

I run three 2GB sticks on one of my mobos (fourth slot open) and performance
is excellent.

Yea, dual channel does offer a small increase in performance, but unless you
are running benchmarks, you probably won't notice a difference.
