How to Disable USB Ports for USB Drive
If usb storage device is not installed in your system you can assign a deny permissions to usbstor.inf and usbstor.pnf files under the SystemRoot directory for all you users. If usb storage device is already installed in your system you can change the value of "Start" to "4" in the registry he HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\UsbStor There are also some ways with 3rd party software that is more flexible. For example, scriptlogic offers quite powerful usb security features with their desktop authority 'Desktop Authority® - ScriptLogic' (http://www.scriptlogic.com/products/desktopauthority/) Hope this helps! -- Frank Sallivan |
