SR was bad in XP. If you did a restore, within a month you would be getting
increasing errors. By 2 months, you formatted!! -- Mick Murphy - Qld - Australia "ICQM Houston" wrote: you're correct - that's what i do now instead of fooling around with system restore that gives always headache "oufan199" wrote: I couldn't agree more. I've never had system restore do anything substantial for me. I often debate whether I should even leave it turned on. Probably not. If I ever had anything major go wrong, I would be better off doing a reformat anyway. System restore has not worked for me either. Just says it is "unsuccessful".
Does anyone know how to get it working because I would like to use it in some cases. And can someone also chime in on how you "reformat"? -- no sig. thank you "DevilsPGD" wrote: In message ICQM Houston wrote: how can it be a virtual life-saver if one gets nothinbg but headaches and frustrations. even Bill do not have solutions for the SR problems. What firewall, anti-virus application or security suite is installed? There
are some that cause problems which do not appear immediately. ------- *Report back, please* [When responding to posts, please include the post(s) you are replying to so that others may learn and benefit from the issue] [How to ask a question] http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555375 "rose" wrote in message ... There's an easy remedy. Instead of complaining about SR then just disable it. If it works for you then there's no problem. I myself like SR because everytime I load a program it makes a restore point and it's much easier to retrace my steps rather than formatting and reloading everything back. Agree sometimes SR doesn't totally revert back to what it was before but I rather try everything before the dreaded reformat and load! -- kanehi |
