(cross-post added to Vista PF&S)
"gdock99" wrote in message oups.com .... I also tried to find an answer for this but the only thing I found was this group posting. That's because the web portal to newsgroups you are using doesn't include the most relevant newsgroup (assuming anybody is using it.) news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...print_fax_scan E.g. copy that link to your address bar to have that newsgroup open in your Vista newsreader app, Windows Mail. This is the only instance of the string "default printer" on it. (In a recent post by CHristopher L. Estep.) I'm including the whole thread in case there is useful information in it for you in its other posts. http://www.microsoft.com/communities...c-b5610d699ef7 I'm also cross-posting this reply to it so now there will be two. ; ) HTH Robert Aldwinckle --- I installed Vista RC1 on a HP nc9230 and have been using it every day. From the start I noticed my default printer changing to another printer. I had about six loaded so after a few weeks of VIsta changing the default printer, I started to delete what Vista decided to be my default. It still did not help, my default printer would not stay. I finally had it down to three printers and the default held for a few days but today it is now changed not to the one on the bottom of the list but to the one on the top. When Vista changed my default printer it did not always pick the top or the bottom of the list. I also tried to find an answer for this but the only thing I found was this group posting. Maybe Microsoft will this resolved in the final release but till then I have to keep looking where my print job is going each day and make the correction for the day. |
