I'm in need of a new printer/multi-function for home. I haven't selected a
brand. Is there any way that I can find whether the drivers will operate under Vista RC1? I can't find a manufacturer who's web-site lists downloadable drivers for Vista (Beta or otherwise). Any help will be appreciated. |

Well, I have a Canon PIXMA MP780. When I installed Vista x86 RC1, I left
everything connected. Vista recognized both the MP780's printer and scanner functions automatically. They both work just fine. Adobe Acrobat 7.0.8 reads the scanner like a champ. It however is not opening the MP780's fax capabilities. Since I use the Windows Fax functions, this is not really an issue. Note that I have not installed special Canon drivers. What is working, works great!! -- Donald Mills "AllanF" wrote: I'm in need of a new printer/multi-function for home. I haven't selected a brand. Thanks Mills,
My preference is Canon, and I have been looking at a more basic model such as the MP180. My concern is that Vista won't accept the drivers, and I'll have to repackage the thing to return it... It always amazes me how someone else has managed to fit everything so neatly in the box. ![]() Apparently, Canon were in partnership with the development of the color management of Vista. So, I would expect them to be leading the way with Vista-capable devices. Who knows? Nothing much on their web-site that I can find. "Mills Architect" wrote: Well, I have a Canon PIXMA MP780. Here are a list of Canon Multipass devices that have drivers in Vista. This
means x64 and x86 drivers for these devices if you have that flavor of operating hardware. If you have Vista just look for the list of drivers when running Add Printer for a local device. Excellent! Thanks, Alan. It has been such a long time since I added hardware
without the manufacturer's disks, that I had forgotten about your onboard driver database. Cheers "Alan Morris [MSFT]" wrote: Here are a list of Canon Multipass devices that have drivers in Vista.
