Do "tweak" programs which are supposed to help with Internet connection
speeds and overall throughput really help?

I'm currently using a cable modem setup in a home office situation. There
are a lot of times where the throughput slows considerably and I've often
wondered if one of these tweak programs would be helpful.

I decided to experiment a little with Tweak VI, but honestly couldn't tell
whether or not it was helping. (If so, not much, in my humble opinion.)

I'm wondering if other Vista users out there have been able to find various
third-party tweak programs helpful?

Any suggestions...?

We have some excellent tutorials on speeding up Vista. Specifically,
for bandwidth improvement, check this tutorial:

I do not know why the links have not been working during the past 24-48
hours, but they are working perfectly today.

So I was able to adjust the band with reserve limit. I have restarted the
machine, and it will be interesting to see how this affects overall
performance. (In the percentage box/window, I put it at 0%.)
