Kinda at a deadend with Vista
I got me a Nvidia Nforce 4 SLI mobo with the Nvidia MCP chip and Vista hates
this chip. Anyway, I have installed the Vista Ultimate package 64 bit and 32 bit at different times...both choke badly. I finally set the whole thing aside for many months and decided to come back to it after the OS got some patches and tweaking. Well now I tried it again and still, with all the patches and upgrades...hot fixes and such...still blue screen of death after BSOD.... always it comes back to the MCP and I am getting tired of messing with this, when windows said "Your machine is compatible for Vista!" Lol....okay. Anyway, I run dual boot with XP also and thank god for that. Anyone else find a way to fix this OS so it can run properly on these chipset mobos? |

Download and install chipset drivers from Nvidia website.

You won't make any progress unless Nvidia provides stable Vista drivers for
that chipset. "Wildman" wrote in message ... I got me a Nvidia Nforce 4 SLI mobo with the Nvidia MCP chip and Vista hates this chip. You found the solution; boot up using XP. Vista is a total disaster!
