Hi,
A 0xD1 stop error usually means a driver fault, but could also be bad memory or an out of date BIOS. Your system builder should be the one to resolve this, as the machine is only a few weeks old. Things to check: - Run the memory diagnostic tool (just type it into the search line to find it) - Check with the motherboard manufacturer for a BIOS update - Check with the motherboard manufacturer for a chipset update - Run msinfo32 and check for conflicts - If a dump file is being created, have it analyzed (I can help you with this) -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org My thoughts http://rick-mvp.blogspot.com "matthew emmett" matthew wrote in message ... over the last 4 weeks i have been getting the blue screen. codes are STOP: 0X000000D1 (0X806A45ED, 0X00000002, 0X00000008, 0X806A4ED) windows vista home premium. intel core quad 2.40ghz 32bit os. if my pc is left idol its fine and no blue screens. it when i start to play games and music. the computer is only 9 weeks old it was made up for me from a small shop. i took the pc back to them last week and i was told it may be some vista update that i downloaded. i have now got my pc back home and i have the same blue screen problems. please can some one help me. |

Well, you've gotten your answer then for gracious' sakes. The hardware is bad. The machine is only a few weeks old. TAKE IT BACK! This is not rocket science. The machine is faulty and it is under warranty. It will not heal itself and you paid for a working computer. Malke -- MS-MVP Elephant Boy Computers www.elephantboycomputers.com Don't Panic! |

Hi Matthew,
As Malke has stated, you have a definite hardware problem and it isn't going to be fixed by a software solution.
