My dimension 9200c will freeze at shut down. So i manually power it off. Then
It takes many Attempts to restart. sometimes over thirty tries b4 it loads windows. It willl evne freeze in safe mode. Tryed to reinstall OS (home premium) and it failed I am assuming cause it just frooze up and I had to restartshut down manually. I am totaaly at a loss at what to do. If I call tech they will tellme to restart pc and it may be 20 to 30 minutes B4 i get into windows again. BIOs will not load either. I have a program that I want to drop and requires restart and so do some updates and I am stuck as to what I shopuld do. I did Have the mother board replaced about 6 weeks ago and the problem seemed to start around the same time. |

Heath, It sounds like a hardware problem to me, especially since the trouble started at the time you had your motherboard replaced. Did you get the motherboard from Dell? Is your system still under warranty? Did you install the motherboard or did Dell send a technician to do it for you (provided you received the board from Dell)? Have you checked for any loose cables? If your cables are secured properly and you continue to have problems I still think it's a hardware issue. Is the new motherboard the same model as the previous one? If your system is under warranty, and your motherboard came from Dell, you should call Dell and demand that they send a technician to fix it. If the dell support agent is reluctant to do so tell him or her that you want to speak to a supervisor. If the supervisor cannot solve the problem ask to speak to his or her supervisor. You should remind the Dell agents, at each step of the process, that the problem did not exist prior to the replacement of the motherboard.
