Rick,

I haven't had a single problem with my Monitor but Vista does list it as
an "important update" so I figured I needed it. If I decide I don't need
it,
how do I stop it from trying to automatically update.

Hi David,

Right click/run as administrator

You need elevated privileges for this type of operation. Also, updating a
driver is not really recommended unless you are having a problem with
that
device and the update has a solution specific to it. Also, you should be
aware of how to rollback a driver if the update causes problems (done
from
the properties of the device in device manager on the driver tab).

Not exactly what I wanted to hear. I have a Dell, and I live in
Germany.
I
can't really take it back.

I take it there is no information about how to fix the "Access is
Denied"
problem.

David,
My computer is new.
I tried downloading the driver from HP and Windows update, same

I brought the computer back to Best Buy and they could not determine

this was happening.
I was able exchange the computer for a new. All is fine now.

No explinaion.

THanks to Dwarf and DL Your suggestions did not help.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks.

Can anyone help?
Thanks Jim Tsak

Please don't post in all caps. It is considered shouting and is poor
netiquette.

Win update is not the place to get driver updates, source those from hw
manufacturers, in your case HP

If your having driver update failures for "HP - Display - HP w1907 Wide
LCD Monitor" with Error Code: 80070005 OVER AND OVER again, then you
need to go to the link listed below!

http://www.portrait.com/dtune/hpw/deu/support_help.html

I was getting really frustrated with the searching for answers (never
find one), Trying to re-install the original driver from the supplied
software included with the computer, etc, etc. I was going to give
up,...THEN..

The Clouds parted...
...Angles started singing...
...Beutiful music was heard, you know, like in the movies...

I found a website page with the fix!

Yes, one simple click on the website above, listed the detailed steps I
needed (administrator access of course) to FINALLY fix my problem. It's
east, simple, AND best of all.......... it WORKED.
