Hello everyone. Version of Windows - Vista RC1 Version 5600
I installed my printer that I purchased today. When Windows Add Hardware completes the installation, it tells me that I have blocked Windows NT 4.0 drivers. How can I unblock the NT 4.0 drivers? Thanks in advance -- Yours truly, |

Thanks in advance I would start by re-checking on the install disk to see if you can explicitly install a W2K or XP driver - could you have accidentally installed from an NT4 sub-directory? However, you probably need to contact Samsung (or look on their website) to ask for an updated driver - what you need is a user-mode driver which probably describes itself as supporting Win2000 or XP. NT4 printer drivers are kernel mode and kernel mode printer drivers are no longer supported by Vista. (Kernel mode printer drivers have been deprecated since Windows 2000 added support for user mode printer drivers). Judy |

I fiexed the problem. Since there are no drivers for the 64 bit version of
Vista, I reinstalled Vista on the 32 bit platform, then the printer was acknowledged. It is a shame; I prefer 64 bit version. I truly hope that 64 bit is improved for its release later this month. -- Yours truly, A Helping Hand "Judy Booth" wrote: =?Utf-8?B?SGFtX1JhZGlvX09wZXJhdG9y?= wrote in : Hello everyone. OK, coincidence or what?
I am also a Ham Radio Operator and Have a Samsung ML-2010 with driver issues. When using the X86 version of Vista, regardless of build...I use the Factory CD based drivers for the printer. When using the X64 version of Vista, again...regardless of build number...I end up using or should I say Vista selects Dell 1100 drivers for the printer. Either way, the printer works fine with the drivers mentioned. N2EAL, Gary MCSE "Ham_Radio_Operator" wrote in message ... Hello everyone.
