Default quad core and vista ultimate

Hello everyone, I have a friend of mine who has a quad core pc that he
bought running vista home premium and he was running some video editing
programs such as pinnacle and adobe. Ever since we did a clean install
and take it up to Ultimate the programs freeze sometimes or they will
just crash. Can anyone suggest what we should do? i'm thinking about
taking him back to the home premium.

This has alot happen at my job where some office who has a quad server
with business will freeze or crash, we thought maybe out program
couldn't handle the quad because not all software is build with good
multi thread programming. We thought it was our program until I did this
for a friend.

Default quad core and vista ultimate

After you installed Ultimate you installed the correct drivers from the
Laptop manufacturers site, and didnt rely on Vista default drivers, or Win
update drivers?
Of course you dont mention versions of Adobe and whether you've checked
their sites for any patches.
Or any error msgs, that may show in Event Viewer
