Hi fellows,
After an ultimate match between Vista and 2000 Pro, I finally could share files between the two computers. I can read and write the files in the 2000 Pro Host from the Vista client. The problem now is the printer sharing, the printer is shared with all the permissions enabled in the 2000 Pro PC; but I can not connect the Vista laptop to the printer in the 2000 Pro host. The communications, users, permissions, etc, etc are working good. I can use the printer from other XP and 2000 Pro machines in the workgroup but I can not use the printer from the Vista laptop; it just says it can not connect to the printer. What could it be??? Thanks in advance Ibrahim -- Ibrahim |

You may try to create local printer first and then re-map it as network
printer. Or this search result may help. Vista Print IssuesSolved: Vista print Error 0x00000866 Resolution: 1. Add a Local Printer and then create a new port pointing to the shared printer. ... www.chicagotech.net/vista/vistaprint.htm -- Bob Lin, MS-MVP, MCSE & CNE Networking, Internet, Routing, VPN Troubleshooting on http://www.ChicagoTech.net How to Setup Windows, Network, VPN & Remote Access on http://www.HowToNetworking.com "Ibrahim" wrote in message news ![]() Hi fellows, After an ultimate match between Vista and 2000 Pro, I finally could share files between the two computers.
