This question has been asked by many people, but somehow no solutions
have been offered. It's about the screensaver not working anymore. My os
is home premium 32 bit. I checked the Preview which is working, I
checked the settings which is 5 min., and I checked the power settings
which is 15 min.on battery and 30 min. on plug-in. I have it on
Performance Setting. My laptop is 4 months old. I have over 65 GB left
on C: and 5.6 GB left on my D: drive. Someone please tell me what has
gone wrong . Thank you.

I noticed a couple of mine didn't work, not sure why but I am using one now
that does.

I don't have any custom ones either!! All of them came with Vista.

You have "something" running that prevents the screen saver from activating.
No one can tell you what it is. The only way to find out is through trial
and error.

Personally, I don't use a screen saver. I simply have my monitor turn off
after x number of minutes.

I have had this happen to me before, but a simple reboot solved it. Have you
tried updating your video drivers? Or changing the screen saver to a
different one, and changing it back? Do all of the screen savers not work or
a specific one?

Thank you, everyone. I have the answer. It was my Wireless mouse
pointer. It might not be moving, but it is running, technically. I
switched back to the wired mouse, 5 min. later the screensaver came on,
right on schedule !

Have you installed the optional update called " Microsoft - Other hardware -
HID Non-User Input Data Filter" ? This will allow the screen saver to
function with a wireless mouse.
