Default Sound drivers and low performance

I have Windows Vista Home Premium (x64).
I have a P5B Asus Motherboard and until today i have installed as sound
drivers: SoundMax 6.10 but since i bought this OS with my sound i have only a
problem: The bass was gone. (I have 5.1 audio system)
Ok, today I enter in "Device Manager" and to my sound card I clicked on
"Update Driver" with hope that will repair my device problem. Update complete
but my sound was GONE. I restared my machine and Roll back to previous
drivers. Now the sound works without bass (as normal on Vista ( ) but when
i Listen Music something strange happen :|... WMP running in past my cpu was
somewhere 4-9% up. Now Runs up to15-20% :|. "MFPMP.exe" eat my proccesor and
I don't want because i am working on computer alot and i need the rest of the
cpu in another applications...

What is that? And... How can I repair to run like before?
Thank You.
