Has anybody else been getting the following error message when attempting
to
update PC-cillin 14.56?

An error occured while connecting to the Internet. Check your Internet
connection and try again. (28)

I have searched and searched and searched and cannot find an answer that
works.

And yes, I know there are other AV programs! I just want to see
what's
going on with this one.

Thanks!!

Default Trend Micro PC-cillin 14.56 problem...

I've been getting exactly the same trouble for 3 days. Reported to Trend who
have come back with all sorts of instructions telling me to click on things
that don't exist in their software or in Vista. I've begged (on my knees!)
Symantec to offer us something soon. This mess is putting me off TrenMicro
completely.

Default Trend Micro PC-cillin 14.56 problem...

After reading everyone's mails I decided to swap PC-cillin's trial for AVG's
trial. Uninstalling PC-cillin crashed and froze the syetm so I had to reset.
Then I had to pick bits of PC-cillin out of the files and registry (it no
longer appeared in the programs listed in Control Panel). Then I installed
AVG AND updated its virus definitions without trouble EXCEPT that Vista
security center thinks I have TWO anti-virus definitions installed -
PC-cillin and AVG. I've tried an advanced search but can't find any mention
of PC-cillin anywhere. How do I convince Vista's Secutity center that
PC-cillin is gone man, gone, not here anymore! ?? Oh and the Security centre
seems to think AVG is turned OFF but AVG says its ON. Happy Days!

Perhaps you missed a Registry entry?
