About once a week my screen resolution seems to be changing--I think on its
own. I do have small kids that sometimes touch the keyboard, so that might have something to do with it, but I don't think so. I say its the resolution, but I am not even sure of that. When it happens the icons get bigger--and webpages font sizes become too big for a page. I have tried manually adjusting the screen resolution, but that doesn't seem to be the answer--it doesn't put it back the way it was before. To fix the problem, I have been restoring my system to previous dates---but it always seems to re-occur. This problem is VERY annoying--and help anyone could give would be fantastic!. Thanks, Matt |

The size of web fonts and desktop icons can be changed just by pressing
[CTRL]- roll mouse wheel. "Matt" wrote in message ... About once a week my screen resolution seems to be changing--I think on its own. Thanks, Matt Is there any chance you or your child is holding down the ctrl key and rolling the mouse wheel (if you even have one)? Maybe a sticky control key? ctrl+mouse wheel will change Icon and font size. |

I see what you mean--but I don't think that is the problem---its almost like how when the computer is in safe mode--the icons get bigger. Thats really the only way I can describe it I guess. not sure if this will help you or not but maybe your (font size (dpi) ) settings got changed somehow. right click on your desktop and click on Personalize (at the bottom), then look to the top left side of the screen and you'll see ( adjust font size(dpi) ) .click on it and see if its set to default or larger scale. set it too default and see if that helps. mike -- scrooge |

Might not be the problem, but sometimes kids games (or any games) will change the screen resolution and not change it back. Just because you mentioned kids, I figured it's worth mentioning. When you get it all back working, launch any games your kids might be using and see if it gets messed up again. If it looks like safe mode, it's probably your resolution. Safe mode boots with a basic VGA driver, and at a low resolution. Just a thought.
