Default Network Connections Disappeared After Failed SP1 Install

I tried to install SP1 earlier today-it failed. I did a system restore and
now my network connections are simply gone. I try to set up a new DSL
connection VIA network wizard it says windows cannot find any
networks-obviously that is wrong since I am currently online. In order to
connect to the net, I have to hit an internet application and suddenly the
username/password logon screen for my windows dsl account suddenly
appears(despite the fact I have no network connections)...

This is very strange- Iam not sure what to do to re-establish them
Will I have to do a system recovery? This upgrade to SP1 has been a freaking
mess
The weird thing is I had no trouble installing the Beta a few months back-my
system crashed due to another reason and that is the reason the beta was not
currently installed.
