For years, I have RDP'd to other computers on my home LAN Workgroup using
the computer name in the Remote Desktop setting. This afternoon, all my remote connections timed out. I had to change from the computer name to the IP address on the Workgroup LAN. This is not a Vista only problem because it also happened on my XP box and on my Viewsonic remote desktop. I have no idea what changed overnight. -- Walter B |

Hi
Try to use static IPs, or IP reservation within the DHCP if your Router supports it. By doing so the same names would be always associated with the same IPs. Jack (MVP-Networking).
