Hello:
Perhaps someone can help me with this annoyance: I am running Vista with SP1 on an HP laptop. Whenever the system starts, after windows loads, a blank window opens for a fraction of a second and then closes. This happens so fast that I can't read the title bar of the window before it closes again. I have run Spybot S&D and have done a virus scan with Norton 360, both of which show no problems. This is not a problem unique to SP1, since it also happened before I installed SP1. Have you any ideas as to what steps I might take? Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Mike |

Hi,
I'd suspect a splash screen for some software in your startup axis. Could actually be the Norton software. The only real way to isolate it would be to use msconfig in selective startup mode and begin disabling software that loads at startup, rebooting inbetween. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org My thoughts http://rick-mvp.blogspot.com "Mike" wrote in message ... Ignore it. It's Windows Defender starting.
