Default MSVCP71.dll

When I run some programs, I get an error that I don't have this file.

I've tried downloading it, putting it in my system32 folder, and
regestering it, but I can't regester it because its a 32bit file, and im
running on 64bit.

How can I fix this?

Hi, 2-D.

I'm running Vista Ultimate x64. When I click Start and put MSVCP71.dll into
the Search box, just one hit pops up, under Programs. I right-click and
then Open file location. Windows Explorer opens on the C:\Windows\System32
folder and there is MSVCP71.dll among all the many other files. See the
attached screenshot.

Have you run the System File Checker?
sfc /scannow

2-D,

I have 32 bit Vista. According to Microsoft, this .dll file can be
freely distributed. Maybe someone with a 64 bit system can assist you
with obtaining this file. The web resources only list msvcp71.dll not 32
or 64 bit versions.
