Default Sounds crashing, Realtek AC'97

Hi,

I bought this computer two months ago and have had this problem since then.

First, I couldn't get 5.1 sounds working properly, only front speakers
worked. I searched for help and tried everything and finally found this
program called SRS Audio Sandbox which I'm using now and all speakers are
working fine.

But when I'm listening to music, watching videos etc. sounds crashes after a
while. It just starts repeating one section of the file I'm listening to and
I have to reboot my computer to get it working again.

I don't know what could be wrong anymore since it feels like I've tried
everything. I got the newest Realtek drivers, updated my Vista today but the
problem still exist.

Computer specs:

Intel Q6600
Abit IP-35
4GB DDR2
GF 8800GT
Vista Home Premium 64bit SP1

Thanks a lot!

Hello Everyone,

I am having the "exact" same problem but with a soundmax audio
driver/set-up.

We'll be watching a movie in Vista Media Center and all of a sudden it
just starts repeating one audio section of the file I'm listening to and
I have to reboot my computer to get it working again. (Killing th
process doesn't resolve the issue)

I have tried reinstalling SRS Audio Sandbox, I have tried removing
Soundmax from loading at start-up and I have also verified that there
are no "conflicts" with either SRS Audio Sandbox or with SoundMax....And
nothing changes, I still get the same problem.

I can't believe that "jne2111" and I are the only ones having this
problem.

Any feedback, advice or thoughts regarding this issue would be
appreciated.

Thanks,

Scott

You would have done MUCH better to have started your OWN thread.

This is an old one, it will probably be largley ignored becaus of
that, and your problem involves a different card/driver.
