My husband and I have 2 laptops which I've networked through a wireless
router and have no problem connecting individually to the Internet or printer. Both use Vista Ultimate. A full map view shows us connected through the same private network, both computer names are listed the same way, and the workgroup is the same. I have turned off Windows Firewall. But I still cannot open/view my laptop from his computer or his from mine in order to access/share files. I also signed us both in for "people near me" and "meeting space" to see if that made any difference. But it didn't. I don't know what I'm missing. Can anyone help? Thanks. |

Excellent, thorough, yet easy to understand article about File/Printer Sharing in Vista. Includes details about sharing printers as well as files and folders: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../bb727037.aspx Malke -- MS-MVP Elephant Boy Computers www.elephantboycomputers.com Don't Panic! |

Just right off the bat, make sure your network is marked "private" rather
than "public." See what that gets you.
