Default System Restore

Hi, I can create restore points but when I try to restore to a previous
point, always get the message: "System Restore did not complete succesfully.
An unspecified error occurred ........" How can I fix System Restore?

What firewall, anti-virus application or security suite is installed? There
are some that cause problems which do not appear immediately.

Hi, Salvador. Just a speculaion, maybe the restore point in question is
the culprit. Why not try a date before, and a date after. If both work ,
then you know the reason.

hi again, apparently the problem is the Norton antivirus, I replaced it with
Panda and deleted most of the files from Norton but there are still some that
I can`t delete. Any ideas how I could do it?

Try this, right click on the file you want to delete, click Run As
Administrator. Now try to delete. If successful that's the end of it. If
not you might have to enable the real built-in administrator to do the
job. Fot that , go to Vista Tutorials, choose Account. Shawn aka Brink
has an excellent tutorial to show you how. Please reply again
afterwards. Thank you.

I have heard that Norton does not like to be uninstalled. However, there is
a utility at Symantec that will eradicate the culprit.
