Visit this post and download/install the evilware/virus scanners: http://www.vistax64.com/software/139...ies-vista.html Then visit our excellent tutorial and see how you can speed up Vista: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/81...nce-vista.html I hope this helps. -- .Joe _[image: http://uswave.net/vistax64/joetmvx64.png] (\"http://www.vistax64.com/index.php?referrerid=17621\")_ _*::Click_here_for_the_Vista_Forums::* (\"http://www.vistax64.com/index.php?referrerid=17621\")_ _Geekbench_Sco_4050 (\"http://browse.geekbench.ca/geekbench2/view/42901\")_ _CPU-Z_Verified (\"http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=323179\")_ |

Vista is slow anyhow but 15 minutes are exttreme.
I managed the following times on a 2.2GHz laptop, with 2GB RAM, fully tuned, (several services disabled), defraged, etc. Startup: 1:30 Logon (and become responsive): 1:45 logoff: 0:45 Turn off: 0:40 sleep: 0:35 Resume: 0:10 * with random behaviour. it takes much longer some times. The following times were recorded on a clean session. I still believe that XP is much faster on a less powerful and tuned machine "kris louis" kris wrote in message ... Windows startup is very slow.
