Shawn aka Brink is the best source to go to. He has excellent tutorials and they work. Any time you have problem following his tutorials, just post the problem and he'll come back to you. He won't left you hanging dry. He also has a tutorial about enabling the real built-in administrator to do the job for you. Just go to the vista tutorials and you'll find his work. Good luck. I'll second the motion for the recommendation for Shawn (Brink). He's the resident authority on Vista. If you need additional help just ask. -- .Joe _[image: http://uswave.net/vistax64/joetmvx64.png] (\"http://www.vistax64.com/index.php?referrerid=17621\")_ _*::Click_here_for_the_Vista_Forums::* (\"http://www.vistax64.com/index.php?referrerid=17621\")_ _Geekbench_Sco_4050 (\"http://browse.geekbench.ca/geekbench2/view/42901\")_ _CPU-Z_Verified (\"http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=323179\")_ |

I have had the same problem; every now and then a random file or folder will refuse to delete, move or rename, and I usually have to reboot my computer and everything's fine. I did try the site where you dl the "take ownership" file, but it doesn't seem to work! Any other suggestions on how to either stop or avoid this?? -- jwg8401 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ jwg8401's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/jwg8401.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/windows-v...nce/937358.htm http://forums.techarena.in |

Hello JWG8401, If you have the 32 bit Vista, you can try the free program "Unlocker" to see if it can help you delete a stubborn file. 'UNLOCKER 1.8.7 BY CEDRICK 'NITCH' COLLOMB' (http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/) Hope this helps, Shawn jwg8401;845720 Wrote: I have had the same problem; every now and then a random file or folder will refuse to delete, move or rename, and I usually have to reboot my computer and everything's fine.
