Default Network name no longer available

I have a management program installed on our main computer, and then 3 other
licenses for users at other desktops. One of those desktops is running Vista
and can no longer connect to the program. It worked fine on 3/21/08. All
other desktops are connecting normally to this program and to other programs
on the network drive.
The program appears to launch, but when I try to log on, it locks up. Twice
I have gotten an error message "Error 00000040: The specified network name is
no longer available. While locking file.............." The file is listed,
then it says "position 1280". The rest of the time the program closes with no
information provided.
I have uninstalled the local files needed to run the program and
re-installed them, I have run the chkdsk utility program and I have
attempted to restore the computer to 3 different points but get an error
stating that the restore was unsuccessful.
Any help would be appreciated.
