Yes Avast or AVG. Personally finf AVG slicker but its onl a 1 month's trial
whereas Avast is is free for home use. Norton's a nono; Trend Micro-PC-cillin
is free and does work but seems to occupy a lot of cpu time, especially on
startup.

For quite some time now i've been using the beta version of PC-Cillin. This
has always worked fine for me. However, i have recently found that the
Internet explorer protected mode is turned off on my machine and have
suspected that PC-Cillin was the cause. Having removed PC-Cillin and
installed Avast i now have confirmation that PC-Cillin was the cause of the
protected mode option being Off.

Avast and AVG have been another stalwart of mine and now that Avast works
with Vista ( i had a lot of problems with Avast in previous builds) i will
now be installing Avast instead of PC-Cillin.
