Default Initializing a TPM on a T-60 running Vista

I am running some test cases on BitLocker with TPM on a T-60. The T-60 had
Windows XP when it arrived and I had initialized the TPM using the Lenovo
Client Security solution software. After that I installed Vista , enabled
Bitlocker etc. While doing some tests I cleared the TPM which prompted
BitLocker recovery. But now I cannot seem to be able to initialize the TPM !
tpm.msc has an option to Initialize the TPM but it just complains that "This
TPM cannot be initialized and may need manual enabling ...." . The Client
Security Software does not want to install on Vista so as I see it my only
option is to wipe of Vista , install XP , initialize the TPM using CSS and
then resintall VISTA. Does anyone know an easier way out ?

Not sure on likelyhood of success, but if T-60 can boot off a USB thumb
drive (likely) then install XP onto a USB thumb drive.
Alternatively, as some do, install XP on the active partition. This may fail
because Vista is already installed.
Sorry I can't give you better advice than that at this time.
