I haven't tried installing ZA on Vista mainly because there was every chance
it wouldn't work. However, there is no immediate panic. Vista has it's own firewall, so there is nothing stopping you staying on the internet. I've been using the Vista built in firewall for months without problems. The Vista firewall is somewhat superior to the original windows firewall in XP. -- John Barnett MVP Associate Expert http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org http://vistasupport.mvps.org The information in this mail/post is supplied "as is". John is absolutely correct here. However Windows One Care beta is live for
trial for those customers who would like to try it on Vista. Otherwise if you are confident in the Windows firewall and need only antivirus protection then AVAST home edition is FREE for use on one home PC. regards Robert "John Barnett MVP" wrote in message ... "Vista has it's own firewall"
Technically yes, but in practice it's actually disabled by default (outgoing) and most users in the world would not know how to make it work anyway because it's completely manual (That's assuming that you can find where to make the changes!). You have to understand quite a lot about networking to even know where to start with it... See http://wordswordswords.wordpress.com...more-firewall/ for more |
