SMTP server issue
Tracy,
It sounds as though you need to go to TOOLS | ACCOUNTS | Your Email Account | Servers Tab | click the "My server requires authentication" then Settings and select "Use same settings as my incoming mail server". I think that's all you need, based upon the statement "'550 5.1.0 Authentication required'" in the error message. Good Luck! SMTP server issue
You have the SSL option enabled. I don't think Comcast uses
SSL, do disable it. If that does not fix the problem, change the SMTP port from 25 to 587, and be sure to enable "My server requires authentication." -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (WLMail) "Tracy" wrote in message ... please help me to understand this message and what it is i need to do thank you Microsoft Windows Version 6.0.6000.16386 (vista_rtm.061101_2205) The message could not be sent.
