That being the case with Macs. They actually ARE losing over 2 years.

No. OSX has gained 1.8% share in the last 2 years, that has all come at
the expense of Windows, (and a tiny bit from Linux).

The public is wisening up about the error using Windows in the modern
world, so the switch to Macs continues exponentially.

Sure right, at a 1% gain a year it will be the year 2050 before they
catch up to Windows.

Apple's marketshare continues to climb, up 34.6 per cent, year on year,
new statistics reveal.

Assuming your numbers are accurate that's hardly skyrocketing
performace if that adds 1% gain per year. That's like a bank giving
you a fat 2% interest rate on a CD and they jump it up to a whopping
4% next year. Big wow! Not!

Remember all the noise about Linux surpassing Windows a few years
back? Didn't happen did it.

You can probably tell I'm not a big Microsoft fan. However I'm a
realist. Like it or not, its a Windows world unless and until some
other major company with deep pockets decides to get into the game and
really go toe to toe with Microsoft. At least that may force them to
clean up their act some. Apple will never be it because they refuse to
give up on their Mickey Mouse closed architecure model which is one
thing that's held them down all these years.
