I use either the - or + burning media.
It could also be your burning software. What are you trying to burn?

Basic questions:
Did you close the DVD after your burned it?
Is your DVD player an older model that is not compatible with DVD+R
discs?

after you burn a movie to disk it has to be finalized. That means closing
the disk so it can be read by other dvd players.

I seem to remember that Roxio has a format that can only be read by Roxio.
That's why I don't use Roxio any more.

Hello Andrea,
I'm assuming you meant burning a musical cd. When you are on Windows
Media Player window, press Alt key, click Tools, click Options, click
Rip Music tab, Remove check mark from the box " Copy Protect Music "
which is the one preventing you to play the copied music on any other
computers or music players. Not done yet. At the Windows Media Audio
box, click the arrow, choose MP3. That enables you to play the ripped
songs on variety of music players, including the iPod. ( You have to do
the above before burning any music.)
Let me know if this works.
