Default Turn off file sharing

I have two Vista computers. I want to turn off file sharing on these
computers. When I try to do that in the Network & Sharing Center, the
option to turn off file sharing is grayed out and I am referred to my
firewall program. There does not seem to be any option in the firewall
program (Norton Security) to turn off file sharing. I have gone to Local
Area Connection Properties and turned off file and printer sharing there but
the computer still appears on the list of Network computers. It seems that
turning off file sharing should be pretty easy. Can anyone advise on how to
do it.

It seems Norton made the process a a bit convoluted, but 'this tutorial'
(http://www.leeindy.com/firewall_nis-1.shtml) talks about how to turn
file sharing ON in Norton, so I suppose you can figure out how to turn
it OFF by unchecking the network locations. Leave it to Norton to
complicate things for the average user.

EDIT: Just found 'this'
help.
