Trying to restore a complete image backup made yesterday on my drive D:
(different partition on the same drive as Vista is installed on). The backup was made successfully using CompletePC Backup and is in a directory called "D:\WindowsImageBackups". I have booted into the Vista DVD disc and selected Recovery Options; CompletePCRestore. However, after scanning my disk for image backups it tells me there are no image backups available to restore from. Then it displays a dialog where it looks like I can tell it to search a different location, but everything is greyed out and only the cancel button can be pressed. Are we supposed to not be able to test the complete restore on this beta, or am I doing something stupid? Thanks Nigel |

I absolutely LOVE how people phrase stuff like that. They pretend that they'd
be a better programmer by bashing the developers, even indirectly. Even in a Pre-RC1, there are a lot of issues which still need to be resolved. Don't expect perfection quite yet "Jeff" wrote: Nigel, It's another example of stuff not working;actually. Never has Jeff "nrms" wrote in message ... Bashing??
Really? PLUHLEEZE A bug thats been reported since 5384?? Bashing? I don't pretend ANYTHING. But I would expect that people;who DO know how; would at least have looked at the issue;by 5536 at least. Thanks Jeff for confirming it's a beta issue and not me! Hopefully it'll be
fixed before release, though I'm not holding my breath. Since CompletePC Backup/Restore is a Premium product added to the "Ultimate" release and charged extra for, I would expect it to work otherwise it will become "an issue". I was hoping it would replace Symantec Ghost on my Vista Desktop. Nigel "Jeff" wrote: Nigel, It's another example of stuff not working;actually. Never has Jeff "nrms" wrote in message ...
