Default Memory Recommendation?

I have a Pentium D 820 (2.8 GHz) and 2GB DDR2 memory. When I installed
Pre-RC1 I had only 1GB memory. I decided to upgrade since it seemed like it
was constantly swapping! It helped, no doubt, but I'm curious if anyone
else is pleased with responsiveness with only 1 GB? Thanks.

Default Memory Recommendation?

I disable Windows Search, scheduled defrag, firewall (I've already a
hardware firewall in place), and Windows Defender. That helps with
performance. :-)

But 1GB seems fine. Having 2GB just seems to increase the size of the
system cache.

Default Memory Recommendation?

Hi

I am running on 1GB of RAM since I 'loaned' my other GB to a friend for
3d-rendering purposes. Like you I was afraid this would have a huge impact
on my system, yet surprisingly I have NO performance issues at all!

I was running Vista 5536 (Pre-RC1) up to yesterday and 5600 (RC1) now... no
difference at all... then again a pentium D is no Core Duo I'm afraid (

My notebook specs:
Intel Core Duo 2GHz
2GB DDR2 667MHz (CL-5 latency)
100GB 7200RPM SATA
ATO X1600 512MB
