I found out the hard way by telling vista to ignore the problem and it promptly disconnected the mouse altogether. I tried restoring to a point before the patch but it did not fix the problem. One of the patches warned that it cannot be removed , so my guess is that is what is causing the problem. Since this was just yesterday I kinda hope they will fix this patch, but I know I cannot rely on this wait and see tactic. Any ideas would be appreciated Thank You Try a different USB port for now I have a new 6 month old system running with no problems until the patch. My system has a Bluetooth mouse with a built in Bluetooth card. The mouse has failed and can no longer be recognized or paired. The USP ports have no problems which leads me to believer the mouse drivers (USB and Bluetooth) are disabled. It is a pain not having access to a mouse. I tried a System Restore with no results. If anyone hears of a patch repair tell us.- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - I just checked and if the update that is causing this is KB938371, then MS says you cannot remove the update. It is intended to make SP1 uninstall more reliably. Has anyone with this issue gone ahead and installed SP1 once they have the issue? I read in another forum that it solved it for someone. I decided to try to reinstall SP1, but received a message that it is already installed. There was no way to continue so I stopped. |

To reinstall SP1 you would first have to uninstall it. If SP1 came
preinstalled on your computer then it is integrated with the rest of the OS and there would be no way to uninstall (because it was not installed separately in the first place). wrote in message ...
