sometimes when I need to delete a bunch of files the system just kinda hangs
there. For example, when I had to delete windows.old directory, after finally figuring out how, the system just sat there for about 5 minutes before it even began deleting the files. Why does it seems to take longer to delete files than it did in XP? |

I had this problem today also, though I am using build 5536. I needed to
delete an old game folder that had a few thousand files in it and I thought it was going to take until the end of time for it to finish. I had the same problem in both beta2 and in RC1, I runned on 512MB RAM with
aero, but the rest of the OS worked fine, except when deleting or moving large amounts of data. now i have installed 2GB RAM and the problem doesn't exist anymore... -- Ole - André Johansen "Chris" wrote in message ... sometimes when I need to delete a bunch of files the system just kinda hangs there. I have the same problem, but plugging in an additional Gig of RAM ........
I prefer a real solution. The workaround I used is deleting the files by using file sharing and deleting it from the remote computer. Works fast, but of course not exactly what you want.
