This happens on youtube, comedycentral.com, and myspace video, so far. I am
fairly certain all of these sites run their video with some flash involvement, so the problem could be with flash, but I think it's just because vista is a really sad, lame version of what was once the loveable XP. Anyway most of the time when I try to view video on one of these sites, it plays for two seconds (it's always two seconds) and then stops. This usually happens with sound, but sometimes without. If I move the slider so I'm at a different part of the video, it plays for about two seconds, but with no sound, and apparently fast-forwarding. It has worked before, and I tried restarting my computer -- after which it worked for a short while. It may also work, at least in part, when I restart my browser (I use firefox). This appears to currently be affecting all flash-based programs that include audio, and now includes actual flash videos as well. Has anyone got the fix for this? Thanks. |

You tube is indeed looked at on the .flv which is flash video. In IE I have no problems watching these videos but it shouold be a matter of updating your flash player version. Check on the firfox web site in case it's a matter of reverting to an earlier version of flash...as this might be a firefox issue rather than a Vista problem. My Vista works wonderfuly BTW. -- Clevo |
