Default ram in vista

in vistas system info screen it tells me i got 512 ram when i have 1gig
installed any help would be great.

What does your BIOS report? If it also says 512 your RAM may not be
compatible with your motherboard or you have some other hardware problem. If
it reports the correct amount it may be a Vista issue.
